When Grandma goes to town
As a small boy I recall going to town with my Grandmother, and seeing the Native women wearing blankets instead of coats. Head scarfs and high heels were the so called norm back in the 50's. My Grandmother wore a tattoo on her forehead which she received as a small girl since she was a daughter of a Chief. This was a time of an end of an era when you would see this. The building that is in the back ground is the old Arcade Hotel, that would have benches out in front where you would see local Natives resting. The downtown area back in those days were bustling with activity, since there were no wal-marts or large dept. stores out on the suburbs.
